This is a class for skaters who are comfortable with forward/backward crossovers, mohawks, and changing between inside/outside edges. Skaters will be working on (or already comfortable with) swing rolls, cross-rolls, and combining arm movements with other elements. As a rough guide, skaters taking this class will be at our Proficiency+ level, or at the higher end of the Advanced class.
A class at this level will typically involve skaters being introduced to the principles of ice dancing, including posture, and understanding the rhythm of the music, and applying these to a combination of steps with slightly more expressive choreography than the Level 1 class. Depending on participants, it may involve learning about partnering, with different handholds, proximity while skating, and synchronising movements.
Both Level 1 and Level 2 classes will emphasise building confidence on the ice, allowing participants to experience the joy of expressing themselves through movement on the ice, and fostering a love for ice dancing.
Rink fees are included in the price for this lesson.
