DESCRIPTION:As we do not currently have funding for figure skating sessions\, please pay at the counter BEFORE you get on the ice. You will still need to RSVP below. \nThis is a practice session for WFSC club members or visiting figure skaters and is for working on figure skating elements only. \nThese are not lessons. Newer skaters must be at KiwiSkate elementary level or higher and be able to safely move around other skaters and do skid stops (eg snow plough\, side stop) on the ice to avoid collisions. \n \nThings to note: \n\nYou will need your own figure skates – hire skates are not suitable for figure skating sessions.\nChildren at novice 1 level may attend from 10 years of age\nChildren at Novice 2 level or higher may attend from 8 to 9 years of age.\nAll those attending must familiarise themselves with the Right of Way Rules contained in the Code of Conduct and our guide to Figure Skating Session Etiquette.\nPrivate lesson skaters attending these sessions must be at novice level or above. Lessons via Zoom or other online media are not permitted during Club sessions.\nWear appropriate clothing and gloves\, and consider protective gear such as crash pants\, knee guards or helmets. DESCRIPTION:Powerskate classes are high-energy conditioning classes. On-ice agility and strength are foundational to good figure and hockey skating\, and these classes are intended to provide skaters with exercises and skills to develop & improve balance\, power\, strength\, edges and endurance. \nEntry Requirements: \n\nOver the age of 12\nFigure skaters should have passed Kiwiskate Advanced level or above.\nHockey Skaters should be at an advanced level and have back crossovers\, forward 3-turns\, 2-foot back 3-turns\, and mohawks.\n\nIf you are unsure if you are at the required level please contact us. \nTerms and Conditions \n
