Matariki Figure Skating Session

Wear your figure skating outfit or something sparkly to celebrate the rising of the Matariki star cluster.

This is a social skating skating session for WFSC club members and Learn to Skate students to practice skating. All those attending must follow the Right of Way Rules contained in the Code of Conduct.

These are not lessons. Newer skaters must have completed a full term of Beginner lessons and be able to manouvre around other skaters and do skid stops (eg snow plough, side stop) on the ice to avoid collisions.

The reduced fee for this session is made possible by the generosity of The Lion Foundation.

Things to note:

• Children may attend from 8 years of age – parents please ensure your child understands the right of way rules.
• All those attending must familiarise themselves with the Right of Way Rules contained in the Code of Conduct.
• Wear appropriate clothing and gloves, and consider protective gear such as crash pants, knee guards or helmets. Jeans, flared/wide legged pants, extra long pants, or pants with ties/drawstrings at base of leg are not allowed to be worn on the ice.
• Headphones/earbuds are not permitted to be worn on the ice during club sessions.
• Children under the age of 12 may not be left unattended during club sessions.
