Edges, Three Turns and Mohawks – Adult & Youth – 2 November 2025

For ages 7 to adult
Requirements: you should already have strong forward outside edges and be able to hold a backward glide on a curve. For Kiwiskate skaters, this class is best suited for levels Basic through Novice II.
This session is designed for figure skaters and hockey players who want to refine their turning skills and develop stronger, more confident edges.
We’ll focus on the fundamentals of edge quality, body alignment, and balance before progressing to three-turns and mohawks — key skills for smooth transitions, quick direction changes, and powerful flow across the ice. Skaters will work through progressive drills that blend precision with fluidity, helping you move with greater control and confidence in any skating discipline.
The class is open to skaters from 7 years to adults; we will divide the class between coaches to make sure everyone gets instruction at their level of skating. Coaches Zark & Russ will lead this session.
Please be at the rink at least 15 minutes before your lesson to ensure adequate time to get your skates on and sign in with the class coordinator.
